Our Advanced Wound Therapies include, but are not limited to, the following treatments.

Debridement

Removal of the infected tissue. This is to prevent the spread of the infection. The process is known as surgical debridement.

Compression Therapy

Various specialized wraps and compression are used for patients with edema and venous stasis issues.

Vac™ Therapy

Vac Therapy for Wounds since its introduction in 1995 has changed the way wounds are healed. With more published clinical evidence than any other form of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy, Vac Therapy has been selected as the treatment of choice for more than 7,000,000 wounds worldwide. Vac Therapy promotes wound healing through Negative Pressure Wound Therapy. By delivering negative pressure (a vacuum) at the wound site through a patented dressing, this helps draw wound edges together, remove infectious materials and actively promote granulation.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Medical treatment in which the patient’s entire body is placed under increased atmospheric pressure, in a pressurized chamber, while breathing 100% oxygen. Through a series of daily treatments, the building of new blood vessels into damaged tissue is enhanced. This method of treatment is proven effective for non-healing wound, osteomyelitis that does not respond to standard treatment, problem surgical wounds, and skin grafts and flaps that are having trouble healing. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is also helpful with patients experiencing complications from radiation therapy. In about 80% of cases, significant healing is seen. Remember, good wound oxygenation is essential for wound healing. Oxygen influences angiogenesis, epithelialization, and resistance to infection.

Bio-engineered tissue substitutes

Tissue engineered skin and platelet-derived growth factors represent significant advancements in wound healing. Skin substitutes are intended to promote the healing of such wounds as skin ulcers and burns by providing protection from infection and a biodegradable scaffold for dermal tissue regeneration. Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is produced by recombinant DNA technology and stimulates wound healing by promoting cell proliferation and enhancing the formation of granulation tissue.

Skin grafts

We use the most advanced variations of skin grafts including but not limited too: Split Thickness and Cellutome Harvesting.
