Idaho Meth Project
Mountain View Hospital joined forces with former Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter and First Lady Lori Otter to help dramatically reduce the use of meth in Idaho. The Governor and First Lady launched Idaho Meth Project in 2008. Mountain View Hospital donated more than $100,000 and hundreds of hours of manpower for many years to help educate Idaho’s youth on the horrific dangers of this drug.
The Idaho Meth Project was a large-scale prevention program aimed at reducing Meth use through public service messaging, public policy and community outreach. Teen meth use in Idaho declined 52 percent after the Meth Project was launched. The success of the program was huge win for Idaho’s future and a testament to the hard work of law enforcement, drug courts, and treatment and prevention efforts.
